Earth Week 2008
The University of Chicago
During Earth Week from April 21st to the 25th the world will
turn its attention to the environment, both celebrating what
the world has to offer and raising awareness about the choices
we must make to sustain it. In honor of this occasion, the
Sustainability Council, Green Campus Initiative, The
Environmental Concerns Organization and a plethora of other
student groups and affiliated organizations are bringing you
the University of Chicago's Earth Week 2008.

Our theme for this year is from the old television show
Captain Planet. The five different powers from the show --
earth, fire, wind, water, heart -- represent the varied themes
that are intertwined in Earth Week: earth events represent
issues of food and plant life, fire represents issues of
global warming, wind represents the winds of change, i.e. new
best practices in transportation and green living, water
represents issues of water and waste and heart represents
community.

We hope you enjoy this week! Take a moment to explore and see what we have put together for you.
